SoHo has a new tenant as of this past Saturday. Karl Lagerfeld has officially opened his first U.S. store at 420 W. Broadway in the heart of New York's SoHo shopping district.

“Opening the first Karl Lagerfeld store in the United States is an exciting milestone in our brand’s continued global growth,” said Pier Paolo Righi, CEO of Karl Lagerfeld. “New York City is an international fashion capital with a modern spirit and energy that make it the ideal setting for our new flagship. With our W. Broadway location, we can invite our consumers to immerse themselves in the complete Karl Lagerfeld retail experience and continue to build meaningful connections with them.”

Spanning 3230-square-feet, the store's interior has an open feel. Décor is inspired directly by Karl Lagerfeld’s personal home and studio, and features antique mirrors, velvet chairs and luxurious marble finishes. A bespoke carpet has a red border around its edges, mimicking the border that Karl Lagerfeld draws on all of his sketches. Another highlight is a library wall inspired by the infamous library in his studio, where he houses a part of his collection of over 300,000 books.

The flagship will showcase Karl Lagerfeld and Karl Lagerfeld Paris ready-to-wear for women and men, plus accessories and footwear. It will further offer the Karl Ikonik collection, which features a playful graphics of Karl Lagerfeld’s iconic character and his famous feline, Choupette. It will also debut the new Karl Lagerfeld + ModelCo colour cosmetics collection, which has been developed in collaboration with the Australian beauty brand.

Throughout the year, the store will continue to surprise its customers with innovation and new collections, including Karl Lagerfeld X Kaia, designed in collaboration with model Kaia Gerber, launching in September 2018. The ready-to-wear and accessories collaboration will blend Karl Lagerfeld’s Parisian aesthetic with Kaia’s L.A. inspirations.

Karl Lagerfeld’s expanding network includes over 95 mono-brand points of sale worldwide, plus a premium wholesale presence in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. The global flagship store on Karl.com reaches 96 countries.
