Kitson confirms that its stores will shutter by end of January

Los Angeles - Famed retailer Kitson announced last month that it was shuttering all of its locations with no official date. Recently, Gordon Brothers Group and Hilco Merchant Resources announced that all of Kitson’s locations will close by the end of January.

The companies released a statement stating that “[store closing sales for] all 14 locations throughout California, Oregon, and Nevada will end as soon as January 18 and some locations may even close sooner.” The retailer had announced that it was struggling financially but never released an official closing date. With the new press release, it is clear that January will be the last month for Kitson locations.

The Los Angeles-based retailer, which opened in 2000, was operating with 18 locations in the U.S. last December. After attempting to discuss with potential buyers of the brand to save the company, it seems Kitson has not been successful in its findings. The company started its closure for its company and e-commerce site in mid-December. After continuing to struggle financially with high rent and debt, the company decided to call it quits by shuttering its stores.
