The contemporary, dresswear boutique Lotta Stensson has announced that it will be shuttering its Los Angeles location this summer. The store closes officially on Sunday, August 30.

The boutique is known for its celebrity clientele, silk resort wear, and on-trend beachwear. The New York-originated label carries a variety of clothing from cover-ups, kaftans, ponchos, robes and dresses. The style of Lotta Stensson Designs reflects the modern, bohemian woman who dresses for comfort and vacation. The first Los Angeles boutique opened 15 years ago in Melrose Heights. Moving headquarters from New York City to Los Angeles, founder Lotta Stensson focused on growing her brand and serving high-profile celebrities in fashion. A couple of her customers include Madonna, Beyonce, Jessica Simpson, Charlize Theron, and more. After nine successful years at her location, Stensson moved the flagship to Hollywood on West Third Street with new designs. The store announced its closure through flyers in the display window that read “Lost Our Lease, Closing Aug. 30th.” According to LA Racked, Stensson is hoping to reopen by next spring if there are no prospective new locations before the end of the summer.

Stensson started her fashion career years ago by creating her own line at the age of 26. With an degree in fashion design completed at NYC’s Fashion Institute of Technology, Stensson worked to show her collections throughout the fashion districts. Her first collection was sold to Barney’s. Since then, Stensson worked to create her own eponymous line which lead to her label Lotta Stensson. The company is known for its upscale, beachwear that is fit for on and off the beach settings.
