Marc by Marc Jacobs shutters in Los Angeles

Los Angeles – It was announced earlier this year that Marc by Marc Jacbos was being officially discontinued. Because of this news, it comes as no surprise that the label’s Melrose flagship recently shuttered in Los Angeles.

The store closed suddenly, without any announcements on why it shuttered. As reported by Racked LA, the shop, which neighbored Nars and Herve Leger, recently closed its space and revealed an empty window. Currently, it is unknown what will happen to the formerly occupied space. However, as reported earlier this year, Marc by Marc Jacobs has already been absorbed and merged into the main Marc Jacobs line along with other pieces.

The reason for the discontinuation of the wildly successful line was due to that fact that Bernard Arnault of LVMH, parent company to Marc Jacobs, wants their IPO to outshine the Michael Kors IPO. By doing this, it’s pertinent that the brand focuses on their primary line instead of Marc by Marc Jacobs.
