Developer Combined Properties has confirmed that their Sunset Time project will begin later this year with 35,000 square feet of retail space. The new high-end landmark will be located in the heart of West Hollywood on the famed Sunset Strip.

The property will be adjacent to the Mondrian and Andaz hotels with 6,000 square feet of digital signage on the face of the building. The property will also include a 149-room hotel and 40 residential units with the remaining 16,000 square feet dedicated to retail and food space. The Sunset Time retail property will be designed by Kanner Architects.

The new retail center will also take the place of the renowned House of Blues sunset location which is set to close August 7 of this year. Originally, Live Nation promoters, who run the House of Blues, confirmed that it would stick around for longer. However, according to the LA Business journal, the operations for the place will start sooner, laying off employees at the end of this month. The iconic venue will be searching for a new space somewhere else in Los Angeles, according to Curbed LA.

Construction for the property will begin later this year. At the current moment there are retailers that are publicly confirmed for the property. As it aims for high-end companies, it’s likely that the residents will end up being luxury, fashion brands. Due to the new changes, the spot will overall include a new night club, shopping spots, and dining restaurants for locals.
