California-based eponymous hatmaker Nick Fouquethas long been known for styles celebrating both modern aesthetics and classic silhouettes. Available in luxury department stores and boutiques globally, Nick Fouquet opened his first shop in Venice, California in 2015. He has now added to his store fleet with a second shop opening on December 17 in Aspen, Colorado.   In keeping with the Nick Fouquet spirit of a timeless laid-back luxe lifestyle, the airy 1300 square foot shop features a mix of custom furnishings from Stahl and Band to create a relaxed feel. Embracing an avid East-West traveler and classic Western cowboy in a contemporary setting Fouquet uses lighter woods, pastel tones, hat wall mounts by Casey Johnson studio, and an array of art and pieces that unite Venice Beach and Aspen. The collection is fit for all season wear with the store offering a comfortable setting for Après Ski gatherings.   Fouquet lived and worked in Aspen for a decade before moving to California. During this time Fouquet developed an appreciation of the town’s history and drew inspiration from the modern Western lifestyle.   “I fell in love with Aspen when I first moved there and have thought about opening a shop there for many years,” said Nick Fouquet in a statement. ”It is special for me to take the Nick Fouquet brand to the next phase with a permanent footprint in a town close to my heart. Aspen comes naturally as a second location to debut our second shop.”   The opening will also mark the launch of The Nick Fouquet Aspen collection, styles designed exclusively for the Colorado market. All pieces are unique to the Nick Fouquet Aspen store including The Ski Bum hat, a signature piece mixing grass root ski culture with Aspen elegance. New hat crown shapes including a modified cattleman’s crease with felt colors adding rich spontaneity. Custom designed hardware accessories will also be offered, including sterling silver hat bands adorned with Lone Mountain turquoise and rare fabrics, playful ski-inspired pins. The Aspen collection will also feature a special footwear collaboration with a heritage Western bootmaker. The shoe designer in question has yet to be unveiled.
