Nordstrom, Inc. recently announced today that it’ll be opening one of its discounted locations in Washington. Known as the off-price shopping haven Nordstrom Rack, the new store is announced to open officially Fall 2017.

The store will span 35,000 square feet and will land at The Village at Totem Lake in Kirkland, Washington. Right off of the 405 Interstate, the new location will join other retailers, experiential restaurants, and more. While Nordstrom has a presence in Washington, it started off slowly with one store over 30 years ago. “When we first opened our Nordstrom Rack in the lower-level of the Downtown Seattle Nordstrom back in 1973, we could never have imagined we’d someday serve our Seattle-area customers with six stores,” Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack, said in a statement. The expansion for Nordstrom Rack has to do with reaching out to a wider base of customers, and providing them with a pleasant shopping experience. “We look forward to offering our eastside customers a more convenient location, so they can spend more time shopping and less time fighting traffic,” said Thomas.

Currently, Nordstrom operates six other locations in Washington. These cities include Downtown Seattle, Bellevue Square, Northgate, Alderwood, Southcenter, and Tacoma Mall. In total, Nordstrom operates 332 stores across the U.S. The location at The Village, which is owned by CenterCal Properties, will help to bring more residents to the space, expanding its retail presence with specialty department stores such as Nordstrom. “The residents will enjoy this new space, which revitalized the area and transforms it into a modern gathering place where community members can live, work, and play,” said CenterCal president Jean Paul Wardy.
