Nordstrom just announced that it's planning to open another discount store in California. The Seattle-based company will be debuting a Nordstrom Rack this fall in Tustin, California.

The new store will be approximately 32,500 square feet and will open later in the year. The discounted designer store will open at The Market Place, a retail shopping mall in Orange County. The new location is meant to drive in more traffic for the Orange County retail market. “[We] anticipate Nordstrom Rack will become a huge draw for our Tustin and Irvine communities,” said Easther Liu, chief marketing officer for Irvine Company Retail Properties. Some of The Market Place’s tenants include Lane Bryant, Ross Dress For Less, T.J. Maxx, Loft, and more. Currently, the shopping center has over 120 stores.

Nordstrom, which was established in 1901, currently operates 22 full-line stores in Southern California. The company operates 31 Nordstrom Rack locations in SoCal as well. These locations include Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Irvine Spectrum Center, and more. The newest location will serve as a way for the company to “grow [Nordstrom’s] presence in Orange County,” said Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack.
