Orange County just gained another clothing-exchange retailer. The non-profit organization just opened its O.C. Goodwill Boutique offering designer-donated goods in Huntington Beach.

The new store will have an interior that reflects its higher-end inventory. The store itself will stock inventory similar to department store discount merchandise. Goodwill is known for taking in used, recycled clothing and re-selling the apparel to help benefit charities in the local area. In the same way that exchange-retailers such as Buffalo Exchange and Crossroads work, Goodwill receives numerous donations of apparel every month. This particular location will focus more on designer-donations rather than low-end apparel like its other Goodwill counterpoints. Due to the area the boutique is located in, Orange County, the Goodwill boutique will stick to higher-end brands such as Ted Baker, Stuart Weitzman, and more. According to the LA Times, the boutique will offer some of these items at a huge discount, such as shoes from Stuart Weitzman for 12.99 dollars that were originally priced at 350 dollars.

In the past two years, the Orange County group has opened four upscale stores. Since Goodwill introduced the idea of higher-end stores, there are 60 locations open across the U.S. The first Orange County boutique opened in Tustin in 2013 and focused on high-end brands for locals in the area. The new upscale boutique allows designer brands to be filtered out from the brand’s warehouse and set out to these boutiques. Goodwill uses the profits of the stores to help the needs of job seekers including veterans, seniors, youth, and more. The organization was founded in 1902 by Rev. Edgar J. Helms in Boston originally. Since then, the company has continued to expand and help the needs of others. Last year, the organization helped over 26.4 million people to train for careers.
