Rebecca Minkoff, known for her luxurious handbags, recently announced a new store opening in Los Angeles. On August 27, Minkoff will open her largest flagship to date on Melrose.

The new space will occupy a total of 4,600 square feet. The brand will debut its largest store on popular shopping-haven Melrose Avenue. “We wanted a location in L.A. that had great proximity to other great brands that we admire,” Uri Minkoff, chief executive officer and co-founder, told WWD. The strip was perfect for the stylish, high-end bags because it was “close to stylists as well as to where a lot of the local people in L.A. in the industry live and work.” The store will dedicate 750 square feet to a stage that will showcase current art, music, and technology. In addition, the flagship will feature a section dedicated to athleisure fashion for men and women, dressing rooms, and a gallery alongside her apparel and handbags. In the future, the brand expects to open two more U.S. stores planned for next year.

The New York-based label first began by founder Rebecca Minkoff introducing her first handbag in 2005. Co-founder and chief executive officer, Uri Minkoff, helped to usher and pioneer the company in its humble beginnings. In 2009, the brand introduced its first apparel ready-to-wear collection. Today the brand is known for its wide range of handbags, jewelry, accessories, footwear, and apparel under its eponymous label as well as Ben Minkoff for menswear. The brand is currently distributed in over 900 stores worldwide. Currently, the brand has five stores located in San Francisco, New York City, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and Hyundai Mokdong.
