Red Wing Shoe Company has opened its first permanent store in New York City. The centenary work footwear company, founded in 1905 in Minnesota, now operates a 3,300-square-foot retail location at 11 Penn Plaza, where it offers its entire heritage collection as well as shoe-fitting and refurbishing services.

"Red Wing Shoes have been a mainstay on New York City job sites for more than a century, but until now we haven't had a physical presence in Manhattan", said Red Wing’s CEO Mark Urdahl, commenting on the opening. "We are excited to make it easier than ever for New York's workers, residents and visitors to find the right product and services for their needs, whether it's working on a construction site or commuting to the office".

Red Wing shoes are distributed to more than 110 countries via 500 Red Wing stores, as well as wholesale partners and owned e-commerce platforms. The company employs over 2,000 people worldwide.
