Los Angeles - The Del Amo Fashion center has been adding more and more confirmed retailers to its list. The highly-anticipated shopping center will debut this fall with a total of 100 new retailers. Recently confirmed to add to this list include specialty department store Nordstrom and Japanese-brand Uniqlo.

The shopping development is set to open on October 9. The mall will encompass approximately 420,000 square feet located in the South Bay of the Los Angeles County. The center will be the one of the largest in the Western United States and will be the fifth biggest in the country. For the shopping center opening, Nordstrom confirmed it will host a gala opening on October 6. The evening will consist of an exclusive shopping and dining experience where proceeds will benefit Peninsula Committee Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The special event will take place the on Tuesday before the rest of the shopping center is available to the public. Nordstrom’s opening will act as a leader in the new restorative, fashion spot.

Nordstrom, Kate Spade, Hugo Boss, and other luxury retailers will open at Del Amo

In addition to Nordstrom, Uniqlo was recently confirmed as a retailer for the plaza. The Japanese label will not be hosting an opening gala prior to the opening, but the weekend will be filled with promotions and events. After Spring and Summer openings, the company set a plan in motion for more expansions. The popular brand has been expanding more and more throughout the U.S. including locations in Boston, Seattle, and Chicago. All of the openings are scheduled to open this fall.

The new retailer will open next weekend. Plans to renovate Del Amo started in the 1990’s. The plans were delayed in 2007 when the center was sold to Mills Corporation, which was acquired by Simon Property Group. It wasn’t until 2012 when the company decided to invest 200 million dollars into restoring the Del Amo Fashion Center to bring in luxury, retail boutiques. The multi-million dollar center’s purpose is to introduce a current, new wave of fashion into SoCal. The developers’ idea is to use fresh, innovative fashion retailers to keep the mall “up-to-date” with current trends. Other confirmed retailers include Topshop, Vince Camuto, Rag & Bone, Brandy Melville, Kate Spade, Hugo Boss, and more.
