Los Angeles - A new retail project is slowly but surely making its way to downtown Los Angeles. The project, entitled the Row DTLA, will approximately be 2 million square feet and feature retail shopping and dining.

In 2014, the two real estate investment firms closed on the land for approximately 357 million dollars from EVOQ Properties. The companies then turned the land into a new retail development. The project is confirmed to bring in 100 stores, 15 restaurants, and creative office space, as reported by WWD. “[The Row is] a series of buildings in a neighborhood that could really define downtown just given the scale,” Joseph Miller, founder of Runyon Group, told WWD. Currently, the space for the Row DTLA includes American Apparel’s headquarters and Splendid headquarters. The idea of the project is to bring in more retail spots and create a new space for the emerging downtown area. “[It’s] not just a project in downtown,” Miller told WWD.

The project has no confirmed date for its completion. The project came about through New York firms Atlas Capital Group and Square Mile Capital Management in 2014. Runyon Group is also involved in the upcoming project. Other projects that the real estate firm has worked on include Platform Project in Culver City. Runyon has also worked with fashion brands such as Planet Blue, Rag & Bone, and Reformation.
