Rue21 is giving its omnichannel structure a makeover. The fast fashion brand plans to revamp its digital to brick and mortar environment in 2019 through a new partnership with Kibo, a cloud commerce solutions firm.

Rue21 will integrate several Kibo solutions to create fulfillment options for its shoppers in the new year, including an option that allows shoppers to buy online then pick up in-store, as well as a more streamlined in-store associate training program.

Kibo’s enterprise-grade OM solution provides inventory tracking capabilities that can seamlessly integrate with Rue21’s current inventory system. “With Kibo, we look forward to offering our shoppers a true omni-inventory experience and improving their shopping journey at rue21,” said Steve Lyman, senior vice president of supply chain at Rue21.

Kibo determined through its 2018 Consumer Trends Report that 67 percent of American consumers have used a buy online pickup in store service in the last six months. It concluded that Rue21’s integration of this option will help drive traffic into its local stores, and incentivize them to make more purchases.

“By expanding its fulfillment options, Rue21 will continue to earn loyalty and recurring sales during peak shopping periods where speed and convenience are king,” said Michelle Fischer, chief customer officer at Kibo, in a statement.
