SJP Collection, the brand founded by actress Sarah Jessica Parker and George Malkemus III, CEO of Manolo Blahnik, is set to open its first permanent store in New York. The announcement was made via Instagram the same week Parker celebrates the 20th anniversary of “Sex and the City”, the TV series that has turned the actress into a fashion icon and popularized Manolo Blahnik in the United States. The exact opening date was not disclosed, but shoppers were advised to “stay tuned”.
The permanent store will be located in the South Street district, which has been classified as “Manhattan’s neighborhood to watch” by magazine Travel + Leisure in its April 2018 issue. SJP Collection already has a pop-up store in Midtown Manhattan, which re-opened on April 2 after a successful holiday season in 2017. In addition to the colorful pumps “Sex and the City” protagonist Carrie Bradshaw was known for, the brand also sells bags and a single “little black dress” model.
SJP Collection already has a permanent standalone boutique at the Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, and at the Dubai Mall. Its products are also sold by a number of retailers around the world, including Bloomingdale’s, Tootsies, and Hudson’s Bay, as well as Amazon UK, France and Germany. Prices range from 255 US dollars and 595 US dollars.
