Los Angeles - Menswear retailer Sid Mashburn just made its first permanent move to California. The company recently opened its first brick-and-mortar store in Los Angeles at Brentwood Country Mart.

The Atlanta-based retailer sells both womenswear and menswear, but the new space will only sell men's apparel currently. The 1,000 square-foot shop will retail a range of apparel including suitwear, jackets, blazers, denim, button-downs and more. Sid Mashburn's apparel features a mix sophisticated, refined styles made for professionals as well as upscale everyday wear, which will be available at the location.

Although this is the brand's first shop in the city, it seems that there are more to come according to the brand's website. "We just opened a new men's shop [in] Los Angeles, and stay turned - maybe our next shop will be closer to you," the site reads.

The location was chosen due to Brentwood Country Mart owner Jim Rosenfield reaching out to the brand. As reported by WWD, the owner approached the two when a space was available. Mashburn believed this space to fit suitably due to the location's community consisting of actors and versatile talent. "[For] now we thought Brentwood was the perfect location for a men's store because there are so many stylish industry men who live there," Mashburn told the publication.

Sid Mashburn and his wife Ann Mashburn came together in 2007 to launch the brand after he gathered experience in the fashion industry from previous jobs. Mashburn worked at J. Crew, Tommy Hilfiger, Lands' End, and Ralph Lauren in designing roles. Between both of them together, the two have an accumulation of fifty years of experience in the industry. Moving forward in retail, this is the brand's only store on the West Coast currently.
