Fashion designer Tadashi Shoji has decided to make some new changes in his retail strategy. This Spring, Shoji has decided to relocate one of his Las Vegas locations as well as introduce new concept pop-ups throughout Los Angeles.
This is a new way that the designer is changing up his retail formula. His retail flagship at The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace will officially relocate in May. The new location is set to be at the Fashion Show Mall, as reported by WWD. The reasoning for the new change was not disclosed to the public. However, the designer did confirm new temporary boutiques that will be popping up in Los Angeles. These shops do not have long-term leases, which makes them ideal for pop-ups that Shoji can test out and experiment with in different areas.
One of the pop-ups will be in Glendale set at the Glendale Galleria shopping center. The pop-up store will open in late April or early May according to reports by WWD. The temporary boutique will also double as an art installation in order to differentiate itself among other retailers. All of the stores, including temporary spaces, will be designed from Woodbury University architecture students. Their decor designs will reflect vintage decor that will also feature televisions that will display Shoji’s fashion week runway shows. The rest of the shops do not have confirmed opening dates, but are slated to pop-up throughout this year.
