The Arrivals quickly became one of everyone’s favorite outerwear labels. Founded by an architect and a tech entrepreneur/investor, the brand followed a very popular business model of selling direct to consumer online, which helps cut out the overhead and commissions of traditional retail, and thus results in more affordable prices without sacrificing quality. A model also followed by popular glasses brand Warby Parker.

This has helped keep The Arrivals luxurious range of jackets beautifully priced under 700 dollars, and their new spring collection is poised to go flying off the shelves. The collection debuted today, and it is plenty to write home about. The crown piece to the collection would have to be the waterproof suede jacket. Creative Director Jeff Johnson, the former architect, was attempting to update and improve upon classic American styles with this collection. If designers like Tom Ford prove anything, it’s an architect’s eye can do wonders for a fashion brand.

In addition to the waterproof suede jacket, the collection will also include a trench with a strikingly low belt, a functional and breathable nylon raincoat, and even a trench with detachable sleeves. As an outerwear brand, the collection is geared heavily towards those in the Northeastern and Midwestern markets, where outerwear is an absolute must of course. "We wanted to rethink seasonal staples such as the denim jacket, traditional trench and Mac coats through a balance of form and function,” Johnson was quoted saying on Fashionista.com.

For their spring collection The Arrivals was also all about affordability and accessibility as well. While the brand is already loved for their more affordable price points, this season was the first time they entered the under 200 dollars price point threshold, and they have also expanded their selection of jackets priced below 300 dollars. This will help expand their clientele base to those who may not feel like spending half a grand or more on a new outerwear piece, but still want quality fashion. The Arrivals is one of the brands to watch this year as their fan base continues to grow, because they are certainly becoming increasingly more popular and are really the definition of affordable luxury.
