Todd Snyder opens second Texas store on Austin's Music Lane
Todd Snyder opened a store on Music Lane in Austin's South Congress district on Thursday, the brand's second location in Texas.
The 1,800 square foot unit sits at 1101 S Congress Avenue and stocks the label's menswear and accessories alongside a curated third-party assortment. Trading hours are 11am to 7pm Monday to Saturday and 11am to 6pm on Sunday.
Product includes a full tailoring shop with an extended range of Italian suits and sport coats, plus denim, linen shirting, suede outerwear and the brand's Italian-made footwear. Third-party labels carried include Rubinacci, Bennett Winch, D.S. & Durga, Paraboot, Sabah, Jacques Solovière and MOSCOT, with vintage watches and jewellery through a partnership with Foundwell. The store also stocks limited-edition Hamilton dress shirts, Red Wing boots and exclusive styles from Tecovas, and houses the first US Care Space for Danish fragrance and apothecary brand Frama.
"There's an authenticity in Austin that's hard to manufacture," founder Todd Snyder said in a statement. "The way the city blends its Western heritage with a modern point of view, the individualism and confidence of the people who live there, it's always resonated with me. With every new store, our goal is to become part of the neighborhood."
President Ellis Lindsey pointed to the location. "Austin is a town that champions the independent spirit, and we're honored to play a part in serving the lifestyle and needs of the people in this community, whether they're current customers or new ones," he said.
Interior
The fit-out pairs the neutral palette used across the brand's New York stores with Southwestern references: arched doorways, tall wooden wall panelling and seating areas intended to slow customers down. Details include custom-stained white oak panelling, hand-plastered walls, a mural by illustrator Richard Haines, custom furniture by Los Angeles designer Stephen Kenn, vintage pieces and items from the Todd Snyder for CB2 range, rugs from ABC Carpet and Home, artwork through Corey Daniels Gallery, and a vintage sound system with records for sale.
