Bleecker Street has a new resident. Tomas Maier has opened his second NYC store at an 1840's townhouse located at 407 Bleecker Street, a location that took Maier almost two years to find. With the opening of this store, this marks the fourth store that Maier has opened in the U.S. He already has boutiques on Madison Avenue, in Palm Beach, and in East Hampton.

A fifth store in the Bal Habour neighborhood of Miami is slated to open in June. His new West Village store is located between Marc by Marc Jacobs and Jimmy Choo. Maier's new store houses both his men's and women's ready to wear brands, including shoes, accessories, shirts, pantsuits, and weekend shoppers. The boutique has a very inviting and intimate feeling. When you step inside, there's a fireplace, exposed brick walls, and Borge Mogensen chairs.

Maier, whose claim to fame is his position as the creative director of Bottega Veneta, has said that his namesake collection will be much more casual and accessible than the ultraluxe brand he's been the force behind. "It’s more about the casual side, the necessities that I would like the client to have for her time off or to wear at the end of the day, for weekends, to go away or to pick up the kids at school,” the designer said. “When you shop at the other side [Bottega], it’s all about the extraordinary and the exceptional. That goes along with the price point, too,” Maier was quoted saying to Women's Wear Daily.

With his boutique in Miami on the way, Maier also has his sights set on opening a Los Angeles boutique in 2016. He's also working on a collection of sunglasses with the help of former Safilo workers he has known for years. While Maier follows a philosophy of "never just wanting to remember someone's clothes", his clothes are always memorable, so, 407 Bleecker just might be your next destination to get some memorable fashion.
