Uniqlo, Japanese casual wear, will open a permanent flagship in Santa Monica this year. The basics retailer is set to open next Friday on June 19.

The new shop will be Uniqlo’s first Santa Monica location. Currently, the casual wear brand has a handful of stores on the West Coast including locations in San Francisco, Cerritos, and Northridge. In Los Angeles, Uniqlo has two locations: one based in Beverly Center and the other in Glendale. The basics brand hosted a pop-up at this space previously last. Uniqlo will now take over the 10,000 square foot boutique and offer its activewear and comfort wear. The latest Uniqlo store opened in the Los Angeles area prior to the Santa Monica location was its Los Cerritos Center 130,000 square foot store. The Cerritos store opened May 22 earlier this year.

Uniqlo is known for its unique, luxury designs that cater to everyday wear and elevated basics. Pieces from the retailer range in price from about 12.50 to 69.50 dollars. Tadashi Tayani currently serves as chief executive officer and founder of the well-established company. Uniqlo, founded in 1984, established itself in Japan. The company carries brands such as Theory, Helmut Lang, J Brand, and more. The lifewear brand has approximately over 4,000 employees at the moment. Their estimated revenue for the year until August 2015 is 1,650 billion yen according to Fast Retailing. Currently, the retail company ranks as the fourth largest retail apparel group in the world.
