Los Angeles - Urban Zen, New York-based clothing company, is planning to move to the West Coast. With its first boutique in Los Angeles, the lifestyle brand will open its doors this August.
The brand will takeover a space in West Hollywood near a shopping strip. The clothing company by Donna Karan is known for its tribal prints, contemporary dresses, home decor, and more. The new boutique will retail its merchandise and will show off an urban decor that matches the brand’s aesthetic. The store is set to have both an indoor and outdoor reflection of California culture. “The location will have a Hollywood bungalow and SoCal aesthetic of indoor/outdoor living with a beautiful garden,” Donna Karan, founder of the brand, told Racked LA. For its debut Los Angeles space, the retailer will open its doors August 2016.
The brand currently has store locations open in New York, Aspen, Manhasset, and other various cities. This is the company’s first venture in the West Coast. The brand’s website states that its clothing was inspired by cultures and artisans from around the world. The clothing represents a mission to bring awareness and change in areas such as education, well-being, and preservation of cultures. The company gives back by supporting the Urban Zen foundation, which supports these areas. Curated by Karan herself, the company states its clothing as a “philosophy of living by Donna Karan.”
