Urban Zen opens in West Hollywood

Opening in West Hollywood, Donna Karan recently just opened another Urban Zen location. The New York-based clothing company just launched the 2,000 square foot space as a permanent location.
Earlier, Karan told Racked LA that she was planning to open a location in Los Angeles for August. The space was supposed to be an outdoor reflection of California culture, encompassing the “urban” style of the brand. “The location will have a Hollywood bungalow and SoCal aesthetic of indoor/outdoor living with a beautiful garden,” Karan told Racked LA at the time. Currently, the luxury brand has stores in New York, Manhasset, Sag Harbor, and Aspen. This location serves as Urban Zen’s first permanent location in Los Angeles, following a pop-up space Karan had opened in earlier years.
As for the future, it may be possible that Karan will be expanding its Los Angeles property eventually. For now, the brand’s biggest presence is in New York with three stores. At Urban Zen’s locations, the boutiques retail clothing inspired by cultures and artisans globally. The clothing, which trademarks itself as “A Philosophy of Living By Donna Karan,” aims to bring awareness and change around the world in areas such as preservation of cultures and education. Through its clothing, Urban Zen supports these areas in cultures in different countries by giving back. By expanding to the Los Angeles area, Karan is only furthering her brand’s voice through a more adamant retail presence.
