Vans and SZA launch collaborative collection Vansza
US footwear and apparel brand Vans and American singer-songwriter SZA have introduced their collaborative collection titled Vansza. Captured by photographer India Sleem in California, the accompanying campaign features Vans Skate Team rider Zion Wright, models Caylee Blosenski and Isabella Carr, and musician Vans.
Leading the footwear line-up for Drop 1 are two revised silhouettes, including the Vansza Knu Skool Mule and the Vansza Authentic Kickdown. The latter incorporates custom artwork by Sage Adams, distressed canvas construction, and a collapsible heel designed for quick wear.
“I love a mule and I love a slide-on. So I needed everything to be slide-on-able. My mom has been telling me, ‘Please stop stepping on the back of your shoes’ my whole life. She hates it. So I put the design aspect in my shoes. I created a step-down shoe, and then I took the whole back off the Knu Skool because, why not? Less effort. More fun. More accessibility. More comfort. More color,” said SZA.
Footwear range expands to technical models
Alongside Drop 1, the partnership introduces the Vansza LX Tabi Hiker for Drop 2, introducing a split-toe construction combined with outdoor-ready features. SZA has also adapted classic styles for future releases, such as the Vansza Knu Skool featuring RealTree camouflage and interchangeable laces.
“This collection is really a reflection of how I live and what inspires me every day. I wanted to create pieces that feel comfortable, functional and expressive, whether you're on a trail, in the city or discovering something new about yourself. Working with Vans gave me the freedom to explore ideas rooted in creativity, curiosity and play, and my hope is that people feel inspired to step outside their comfort zone, trust their instincts and have fun making something uniquely their own,” explained SZA.
Apparel assortment focuses on utility and comfort
Extending beyond footwear, the collection blends vintage outdoor references with customization and functional utility. Highlights include the Vansza Workwear Trompe L'Oeil Fleece Set, which applies a photorealistic print of a worn workwear jacket from SZA's personal collection onto a crewneck fleece and matching sweatpant.
The collection also features the Vansza Denim Hunting Jacket and Multi-Pocket Denim Pant, which utilise washed denim, oversized proportions, contrast corduroy details, and exaggerated pockets.
“I love workwear but sometimes it's just uncomfortable to move around in. I made my dream workwear set but for the quintessentially cozy individual like myself lol,” SZA added.
Rollout details and store appearances
The collection made its initial public appearance via an immersive installation at 260 Bowery in New York during New York Fashion Week (NYFW) on September 10 and September 11.
Ahead of the global digital and brick and mortar launch, SZA will make in-store appearances at the Vans Glendale Galleria location in California on October 17, 2026, and at Foot Locker at Freehold Raceway Mall in New Jersey on October 21, 2026.
The Vansza Drop 1 collection will launch on October 22, 2026, at Vans retail locations and online. Drop 2 is scheduled to follow on April 8, 2027.
