American lifestyle and clothing brand Vineyard Vines has announced that it will be closing all of its retail stores and outlets in an effort to protect communities from the COVID-19 pandemic. In an announcement from the company, Vineyard Vines stores will be closed beginning on Mar. 16 through Mar. 27 until further notice.

“The safety and wellness of our team, customers and community is our #1 priority. Given the current state of COVID-19 we have decided to close all stores and encourage you to take the precautionary measures recommended by the CDC and WHO,” the brand’s founders Shep and Ian Murray said in a statement. “This unprecedented time leaves us incredibly thankful for the support of our team, loyal customers and communities…we know that the strength and character of our communities will see us through.”

The company will continue to pay its store teams for any shifts that were scheduled prior to the announcement. Those in the Vineyard Vines offices, as well as corporate employees, have been asked to work remotely until further notice.

Vineyard Vines will still be available to consumers online at its e-commerce site.
