Vuela, online retailer, hosted a pop-up event over the weekend in downtown Los Angeles. The pop-up shop included fashion accessories and home goods from local artisans in the area.
The pop-up took place on Saturday in downtown Los Angeles at the AltHouse. The AltHouse is known as a curated boutique carrying labels such as Samantha Pleet and Grey Ant. Known for its in-house brand, Alt, the store reflects a minimalist style. The brand opened its doors to e-tailer Vuela in order to expand its collection to global and local crafters including women’s apparel, textiles, and more.
The online boutique showcases various collections that involves works from local crafters as well as international designers. The brand presents under-the-radar lines such as Nancybird Accessories, Manufacture des Rigoles Totes, Naoko Ogawa Jewelry and more. Items that are sold under the Vuela brand include bags, totes, necklaces, cuffs, miscellaneous jewelry, cases, travel items, and home decor. Some of the accessories, such as the leather goods, can run up to about 298 dollars in price. Other items geared more towards the home interior side can range up to 450 dollars as well.
The brand, which translates to “to fly” in Spanish, reflects the “free spirit” mentality of the rand. Marji De Las Alas, founder of the brand, provides access to global design while hosting personalized service for the company. The brand, which launched in 2012, prides itself on original pieces that are beautiful in design and construction. The vintage-inspired company offers various pieces that reflect a love of travel, creativity, and all things bohemian.
