British outerwear brand Barbour has introduced Birchwood Tartan, a new seasonal interpretation of the brand's family 'Dress Tartan' sett, for autumn/winter 2026. The collection spans menswear and womenswear and appears across outerwear, shirting, knitwear and layering pieces, with a wider rollout planned from August 2026.

The brand said the tartan was inspired by the changing colours of native Scottish woodlands, combining camel and navy tones with softer blue and neutral accents.

In womenswear, Birchwood Tartan is presented through a palette described as Dark Navy, Mist, Frosted Heather and Cloud, running across showerproof outerwear, Oxford shirts, tailored trousers and knitwear aimed at transitional dressing. The short 'Delilah' showerproof jacket, with its box-pleat back and oversized pockets, leads the outerwear, while the tartan appears more discreetly as trims on an Oxford shirt and as internal detailing on tailored trousers.

The menswear range combines camel and navy with White and Tarn Blue accents, with Barbour describing the focus as versatile, everyday wardrobe staples. A lightweight showerproof blouson jacket, cut fully in the new tartan, anchors the outerwear, paired with a double-knit, snap-through cardigan and twill trousers carrying more subtle tartan trims.
