Paying homage to their favourite movies and Japanese youth culture, the Passionata Autumn/Winter 2020 season offers the title role to Tia, the perfect embodiment of the new Passionata Spirit. From the sounds and images of his first experiences in the electric city to his brief encounter with young Tokyoites, the campaign fits perfectly with the ichi go ichi e spirit: once in a lifetime.

For this new AW2020 season, Passionata decided to work with new face Tia Johnson, a Californian native who symbolizes Passionata's spirit. Born with a skin pigment condition, Tia has turned this into her defining feature to become a symbol of alternative beauty. Her fearless attitude and strong point of view have made her a voice of contemporary youth.

Tokyo street inspiration

Passionata found its inspiration for this Tokyo-based collection within contemporary Tokyo icons. In a street casting, Passionata met Japanese, young creative women, who exude all Passionata stands: passionate women with a mischievous attitude and a vibrant body.

Kyoka Rushball is a contemporary street/breakdancer, competing in high profile dance competitions all over the world. She is a champion of numerous events and teaches her own crew of dancers in Tokyo. Diana Chiaki is a DJ and producer, and on of the most active and well known proponents of electronic music in Tokyo. Athlete Maiko Yoshida is a regular competitor in marathon triatlon events in both Japan and worldwide.

Innovations in AW20 range

Within the AW20 collection, Passionata expands its range with Sun, a new daily basic line featuring pleated lace details. From Harajuku days to Ginza nights, Sun is the everday ally for contemporary individuals. Sun exists in black, talc and rêverie.

Sukeban: Electric Nights

Next to Sun, Passionata launches a new attractive line for AW20 inspired by the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. Sukeban is versatile enough to be worn out in the city and on the go, as it delicately merges Leaver's lace with tulle for a stylish worn. Sukeban exists in black, talc and peach.
