Scotch & Soda FW23 Kidswear

Inspired by the beats of Amsterdam, Fall/Winter 2023 celebrates the endless joy of music. It champions the youthful energy, optimism and unity that music brings by remixing easy-to-wear pieces with free-spirited prints, feel-good artworks and the brand’s signature fun-loving details. Tuning into the changing season, the collection delivers a complete wardrobe made to be worn on repeat, from back-to-school styles and functional outerwear to dressed-up holiday looks.

Music-inspired graphics, artworks and quotes set the tempo this season, like a record store artwork on a black tee for boys, easily matched with corduroy cargo sweatpants. For girls, a cassette player and musical notes are scribbled on a loose-fit hoodie, while ‘The Amsterdam Beat’ is printed across the front of an organic cotton T-shirt. Unique prints also spread across the collection, inspired by music festivals and parties. Highlights are an all-over disco tie-dye print for girls – as seen on a printed tape midi dress and pleated skirt – and an all-over stereo and festival print for boys, which appears on a printed T-shirt and sweatshirt respectively.

Knitwear is easy to combine and pans out in a range of patterns and colours, like a structured intarsia knit with an abstract, red flame design for boys and a pink melange sweater with a playful knotted front for girls. A nod to the Scotch & Soda’s iconic tag line, an intarsia cardigan for boys – worn together with the loose- tapered Dean in corduroy – features ‘The free spirit of Amsterdam’ on the front as well as ‘have a nice day’ on the sleeve, celebrating the brand’s joyful optimism.

Transitional jackets and winter coats are key this season. For boys, a lightweight colour-block jacket and leather biker jacket with sweat hood are effortlessly cool for school, while an organic cotton jacket with free- spirited artwork is one of Scotch & Soda’s greatest hits. A night-blue caban jacket – also in the girls’ collection – and padded parka with REPREVE® filling are true wardrobe essentials for the winter season. For girls, a printed reversible bomber jacket is uniquely functional on lighter days, while an oversized varsity jacket with ‘Music is love’ on the back is a new, playful take on a classic. A faux-fur trucker jacket adds extra joy to outdoor adventures, with a fun ‘The vibe is alright’ patch on the inside, together with its leopard print lining.

School-ready looks are also a highlight, from a dip-dye sweat dress – designed with ‘Let the music play’ written across the chest and back – to a two-in-one reversible vest parka for girls and a relaxed-fit organic cotton hoodie and crewneck pullover for boys.

Dressed-up looks celebrate the holiday season, like a jacquard knit and loose tapered jacquard trousers for boys and a broderie anglaise dress, a rhinestone sweater and glitter midi skirt for girls. A green corduroy blazer with matching skirt for girls can be dressed up or down, while an embellished blazer in night blue with matching high-rise trousers is both a smart and playful set.

Amsterdams Blauw denim – at the core of every back-to-school wardrobe – is reworked with new fits, washes and details, uniting around everyday ease. Worn together with a teddy jacket, the unisex Spirit jean – a relaxed tapered style – gives the ultimate festival vibe, with its music-inspired artwork, fun embroideries and colourful paint brush effect. A relaxed denim jogger, the Verve is a new fit for boys, while the super- loose Fling is introduced for girls.

A collection highlight, unique artworks and quotes inspired by the iconic bands Pink Floyd and Blondie are a tribute to music loved across generations. The cosmic style of Pink Floyd’s artwork appears on a unisex denim trucker jacket, while Blondie artwork is printed across an organic cotton T-shirt for girls.

In celebration of Scotch & Soda’s partnership with Paradiso’s Indiestad, which offers a stage to new and up-and-coming bands in Amsterdam, the brand releases two unisex pieces for kids – a hoodie and a T-shirt – which feature Indiestad’s unique artwork.

The Amsterdam Record Store collection highlight – available in the boys’ collection – celebrates the brand’s partnerships with some of the city’s most iconic music stores, featuring a yellow sweatshirt and purple hoodie by Velvet and Mary Go Wild respectively.

Introducing new and premium wardrobe essentials, Scotch & Soda also launches a range of unisex items featuring the brand’s new Free Spirit Peace Bird as a small chest logo or statement artwork. Available in new-season shades and classic colours, the range includes T-shirts and sweatshirts.
