American fashion brand Tommy Hilfiger, owned by US group PVH Corp., has launched a limited-edition capsule collection with FRGMT, the label of Japanese designer Hiroshi Fujiwara. The 'Tommy Hilfiger x FRGMT' collection has been available globally since October 15, 2026, in select Tommy Hilfiger stores and on the brand's website.
The collaboration revisits styles from the brand's 90s archive, a period when its preppy aesthetic became closely linked to music and street culture. According to the brand, the capsule combines a New York and a Tokyo perspective on what it calls Classic American Cool.
Both designers have long drawn on music, pop culture and the creative scenes of New York, London and Tokyo. For Hilfiger, that connection goes back to People's Place, the store he opened at the age of 18 as a place where young people discovered style, listened to records and met.
"For this collection, we went back to some of our favorite 90s pieces and looked at them through his distinctly Japanese point of view," said brand founder Tommy Hilfiger. "The result is a collection that pays tribute to our heritage, while connecting continents, perspectives and generations."
Archive pieces with FRGMT signatures
The line-up reworks Tommy Hilfiger wardrobe staples such as the rugby shirt, button-down shirt, varsity jacket, chino and field jacket. These are joined by archival pieces including the Regatta jacket, sailing polo and duffel bag.
FRGMT's design codes, such as thunderbolt graphics and polka dots, appear throughout the collection, while the Tommy flag logo is reworked in light blue, the capsule's key colour. Materials include flannel check shirting, dry cotton jersey, washed nylon and heavyweight cotton twill.
Fujiwara said he first noticed the brand through music. "In the 90s, I noticed that many hip-hop artists were wearing Tommy Hilfiger in their own way, and that really stayed with me," he said. "This collection brings together that 90s nostalgia and my reinterpretation of the Tommy look."
The accompanying campaign is a short social film shot on the streets of New York, setting the brand's uptown prep codes in a skating context. The capsule follows earlier Tommy Hilfiger collaborations with Patta, Aries and CLOT.
