Australian fashion brand Zimmermann has opened two new boutiques in the US. Its first Nashville store opened in Tennessee in September, followed in October by a boutique in the Chicago area that marks the brand's entry into the Midwest.

Both stores were designed with Studio McQualter, Zimmermann's long-term design partner. Like the brand's other recent openings, they combine bespoke furnishings, collectible vintage design and art.

First boutique in Nashville

The Nashville boutique is located at 505 Houston Street in Wedgewood Village and opened with the fall 2026 collection. Zimmermann points to the city's growth as a cultural destination, where a contemporary art, design, fashion and hospitality scene has developed alongside its creative heritage.

"We've watched over the years as Nashville has continued to evolve into one of the most talked-about cultural destinations in the US and so this project felt like a natural next step for us in the US," said Nicky Zimmermann, creative director and co-founder.

The store is laid out as a series of connected spaces in custom terrazzo, stone, mirror and stainless steel, warmed by vintage furniture, decorative lighting and an international art collection. Viola marble plinths frame the entrance, while an Erik Höglund candelabra stands in the window display. Further inside, the palette shifts to caramel tones, burnt-red wool carpeting, liver-toned terrazzo tiles and Indonesian ikat textiles.

The accessories room is finished in green from floor to ceiling and features a salon-style hang of vintage and contemporary works by Australian and international artists, including Enrico Baj, May Chapman and Richard Lindner. In the lounge, a work by Australian artist Belem Lett hangs above the fireplace, surrounded by vintage lamps by Paul Evans and Curtis Jeré, a Peter Ghyczy coffee table and bespoke seating.

Midwest entry at Plaza del Lago

The second boutique is a multi-level store at Plaza del Lago, an open-air lakeside shopping centre at 1515 Sheridan Road in Wilmette, north of Chicago. It opened with the cruise 2027 collection.

"Chicago is a city with such a strong creative identity, where incredible architecture, art and design come together in a way that is especially meaningful for us. We wanted to design a boutique that feels just as warm, vibrant and inviting as its surroundings," said Zimmermann.

The interior responds to the building's Spanish-style architecture and makes use of its natural light. At the entrance, a blue glass Gaetano Pesce vase sits on a custom station in blackened steel and yellow glass, and a pair of restored 1950s Murano Alami brass wall sconces frames the handbag display. The window features a one-of-a-kind sculpture in straw and ceramic clay by Alfred Lowe, a nod to contemporary Australian craftsmanship.

A 1940s Swedish wall light by Edvard Hagman marks the staircase to the first floor. There, a vintage Willy Rizzo lamp with a custom Pierre Frey leopard shade stands on a jaffa-coloured console, and mid-century armchairs in green velvet surround a Peter Ghyczy coffee table on a custom abrash rug by Halcyon Lake. The fabric-panelled fitting room houses Gae Aulenti's 'Locus Solus' sculptural chair.

The two openings follow Zimmermann's first boutique in Puerto Rico, which opened at The Mall of San Juan in August.
