Woolmark Prize names U.S. men's wear and women's wear nominees

The Woolmark Co. has named their U.S. nominees for the International Woolmark Prize. The regional awards will take place in New York in July.

The women's wear nominees are Gabriela Hearst, Hellessy, Monse, Nellie Partow, and Sally LaPointe.

The men's wear nominees are Abasi Rosborough, Matiere, Pyer Moss, Rochambeau, and Second/Layer.

Six ceremonies will take place for the nominees in New York, Hong Kong, Sydney, Mumbai, Milan, and London. Nominees will present a merino wool look and a six piece capsule collection for industry experts. The 12 winning finalists will each receive a prize of 38,000 dollars to put towards their next collection, and an invitation towards the international global finals.

The winner of the men's wear and women's wear finals will each receive 76,500 dollars to assist with fabric sourcing and marketing of their collection. They will also be mentored by an industry expert.

The winners will also be given the opportunity to sell their collection at Harvey Nichols in the U.K., Saks Fifth Avenue in New York, David Jones in Australia, Boutique 1 in the United Arab Emirates, Verso in Belgium, L'Eclaireur in Paris, Boon the Shop in South Korea, Papilion in Indonesia, and online through mytheresa.com and matchesfashion.com.
