Janet Schalk named Hudson Bay's new CIO

Hudson Bay Co., the parent company of Saks Fifth Avenue and Lord & Taylor, has a named Janet Schalk their new Chief Information Officer. Schalk previously served as Executive Vice President and CIO of Kohl's corp, and prior to that she was head of Global IT and at Target Corp. In her new role, Schalk will be responsible for developing HBC's IT strategy and will report to the office of Chairman, which includes Governor Richard Baker and CEO Jerry Storch.

“Janet is a proven leader, and her success in creating a strategic information-technology function that drives customer engagement across all channels will be critical in advancing HBC’s IT systems and supporting the company’s growth,” Storch said in a release. “We look forward to welcoming Janet to HBC and moving ahead with our plans for innovation and growth.”

HBC has been working on building up their corporate team and strengthening areas like IT where they felt they needed improvement over the last several months.The group posted a net loss of 43.2 million dollars in their most recent earning reports in June, so, they are doing everything possible to bring their revenue back up.
