Topshop is hoping to boost it's international

appeal and has hired former Burberry public relations vice president Justin Cooke to help build its global brand image.

According to the Sunday Times, Topshop's parent company the Arcadia Group appointed Cooke, who is credited with helping Christopher Bailey alter Burberry's image from a dusty heritage brand to a global luxury powerhouse.

Cooke would be reporting to Topshop owner Sir Philip Green and working with managing director Mary Homer to look at oversees opportunities for the business.

Green is believed to be considering opening up to 15 flagship stores in America in addition to its current three-store portforlio. The company is also considering expansion in China.

“We’re going to transform it from being a British retailer to a global brand,” said Cooke. “We want to bring the experience of the Oxford Street flagship to a worldwide audience.”
