AMFI is currently the largest fashion institute in the Netherlands. More than 100 lecturers teach more than 1300 students about all aspects of the fashion world. Undergraduate students choose to specialise in either Fashion & Design, Fashion & Management or Fashion & Branding, in Dutch or in English. Students graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion & Textile Technologies.

AMFI’s education covers all facets of fashion from developing an idea to a product and an image. Students are taught to understand the entire fashion chain and their specific discipline in a wider perspective.

AMFI has embraced the Reality School concept and offers courses in which students develop professional products which are presented and sold in the market: from iNDiViDUALS' collection, to Fashion & Visual Culture's films, to Fashion & Editorial Branding's publishing platforms and Denim's brand extensions.

Being based in Amsterdam offers great advantages. Many global players in the fashion industry have headquarters in Amsterdam, for example Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Karl Lagerfeld, G-STAR, to name a few.

In September 2017 the second generation of the Master Fashion Enterprise Creation has started. The MA FEC at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute is intended for (new) entrepreneurs who want to start a fashion business. The programme will provide a strong foundation in business research, designing for the market, management expertise, and provide training in all the essential components to start a successful fashion enterprise.

AMFI graduates are employed in various levels of the Fashion Industry. Graduates work for companies such as Louis Vuitton, Lancel, The Sting, H&M, Inditex, G-STAR, Viktor & Rolf, Tommy Hilfiger and Suitsupply.
