Editorialist is a shining beacon of a growing fashion business. The company, which combines content and commerce by making everything they feature shoppable has seen revenues increase 14 percent year-over-year as of August 1, and advertising revenue increase 114 percent year-over-year. While they decline to reveal specific revenue figures, they certainly aren't living hand to mouth.

Their business is so successful that they attracted an investor from outside the world of typical fashion investors. Music entrepreneur Scooter Braun now counts herself as an investor in their company. The news first broke on Business of Fashion. Braun is known for building Justin Bieber's career, and being the founder of talent managemetn and media company SB Projects, which has worked with celebrities like Kanye West and Karlie Kloss. Braun has been making investments in many companies lately, including Spotify and Uber.

“When deciding what to invest in, I look for disrupters of their industry who have built something of true quality that breaks through the noise,” said Braun to Business of Fashion. “Editorialist is built by imaginative people who are driven and delivering something compelling to the marketplace. They are presenting a new model for fashion media, I’m excited to be a part of it and see how it continues to grow.”

Braun will also be taking on a consulting role at Editorialist as well.

Editorialist co-founders Kate Davidson Hudson and Stefania Allen are most interested in Braun's marketing strategies as they prepare Editorialist to launch their own private label.

The company has made several key hires lately, including former fashion director of accessories at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman Ana Maria Pimental as contributing fashion director, former W and Elle accessories directors Claudia Mata and Maria Duenas Jacobs as contributing editors and former Maxim editor-in-chief Kate Lanphear as contributing creative director.
