Kingpins show changing dates and locations

Any good business person would know that in order to make sure your product or service continues to be a success you have to adjust to the customers needs. The Kingpins Show, the long time international trade show which has had a wonderful presence in NYC, has announced that they will be adjusting the dates for their show. The new dates for their show will be on a November/May schedule instead of a January/July schedule to better accommodate buyers.

The change will go into place after the 21 - 22 July 2015 shows. The new dates will be November 3 and 4, 2015 for the spring/summer 2017 season and May 11 and 12, 2015 for the fall/winter 2017 season. It is a big change on the calendar, but a much needed one.

“We have been hearing from our attendees in New York for some time that our dates have been too late to best serve their buying needs,” commented Andrew Olah, founder of the Kingpins Show, in a statement. “As the seminal denim-only sourcing event, our focus has always been to meet the needs of the jeans market – whatever they may be. We feel the need to be first in industry timing and in this case, we are evolving as the denim industry evolves.”

The dates will be long term and will be supported by a larger venue. Both the spring/summer and fall/winter shows will be taking place at Pier - 36 - Basketball City. “We want to bring to New York some of what we’ve been able to create at our Kingpins Amsterdam show, where we have had the room to not only showcase best-of denim mills and resources but also to partner with fantastic vintage dealers, artisans and brands to more fully represent the denim industry and create a greater sense of community,” Olah said.

While Kingpins will be adjusting their dates for their NYC shows, their dates for their Amsterdam and Hong Kong shows will remain the same. Amsterdam will continue to take place in April and October 2016, and the Hong Kong show will be March and August 2016.
