Sustainability initiatives and emerging fesigners at Coterie FW26

The FW26 New York edition of the Coterie fashion fair ran from February 24-26, 2026, at the Javits Center, with exhibitor move-in scheduled for February 22 and 23. But Mother Nature had other plans: a blizzard swept through the city from Sunday evening into Monday afternoon, prompting a travel ban that remained in place until noon. By the afternoon of day two, however, the fair was up and running and for those unable to attend the show in person, there was a convenient digital option.
Coterie x Joor
Buyers increasingly prefer omnichannel sourcing — combining onsite discovery with digital follow-up. Coterie partnered with the B2B wholesale platform JOOR to allow buyers to browse line sheets, view product imagery and pricing, and place orders from participating brands. The online extension opened two weeks ahead of the February event, to remain active for six weeks afterward.
Where vintage meets après ski
With consumer interest in winter apparel high, The Après Ski neighborhood has been a favorite since its inception. This season’s exhibitors included Of Handmade and Trama knitwear, Tosato coats and Laulhère berets.
A commitment to sustainability
The Fair’s commitment to sustainability was clear. This season Coterie partnered with the vintage marketplace Normal NYC to include upcycled vintage pieces curated by their vendors. It points to a growing trend for retailers to combine new and vintage styles together on the sales floor.
Using deadstock fabric minimizes environmental impact
Sarah Maj
20% of the 500 or so brands showing this season were new to the fair this season, including Marrakesh and Milan-based Sarah Maj, founder and creative director of her eponymous label. Designed and created by female artisans in Morocco, eschewing all new fabric manufacturing, Sarah sources all of her fabrics from Italian deadstock. For FW26 she showed a collection of dresses, coordinates, leather jackets and pants in an autumnal palette.

Investment dressing is key
According to show management, as consumers grow increasingly conscious of quality and longevity, buyers were seeking pieces that could be defined as ‘investment dressing.’ This direction was underscored as a key trend for FW26 by several exhibitors, including Autumn Cashmere, Lanhtropy, Goldie Tees and Stitches + Stripes. Vintage, upcycled, and curated lines reflected a deeper market appetite for meaningful, high-quality fashion.
Lanhtropy
Best known for its iconic metallic linen separates and dresses in a myriad of colors, Miami-based Lanhtropy has a mantra of ‘dressing well every day with pieces made to last’. For FW26 they were showing oversized blazers, and structured coats as well as separates in wool blends, corduroy and velvet with their best-seller being the ‘cupid’ brushed cotton plaid shirt and pants, reflecting the brand’s evolution toward multi-layer dressing.'

Seventy Venezia
The Italian brand Seventy has believed in the idea of discrete elegance since its inception over 50 years ago. For FW26, buyers sought out their argyle knits, clean denim and separates in luxurious fabrics and shades of grey, camel and brown. Key item for FW26 was a plaid reversible coat with leopard trim.
