Iconic rap group Run DMC was known for two things: their music abilities and their affinity for Adidas shoes. The Adidas superstar was the favorite of the groups DJ, Jam Master Jay. As the anniversary of Jam Master Jay's death approaches, his friends have come together to create a limited-edition superstar shoe dedicated to him.

The Adidas Superstar Pro Model is limited to a small total of 150 pairs, and is priced at 300 dollars. The catch is the shoe is only available at one store in Shorewood, Wisc. Retailer Clicks, a store owned by Run DMC rappers DMC and Shake, otherwise known as Darryl McDaniels and Eric James, is the sole store privileged enough to carry the shoes.

The major force behind the collaboration though was Adam Padilla, President and CEO of creative agency BrandFire. Padilla helped bring the ideas of McDaniels and James to life, the end result is an all-white silhouette with Adidas's signature three-stripe logo with gold accents, the word "Jay" was also included in the classic Run DMC bars logo, with the Adidas logo placed on the heel.

Buyers who manage to get their hands on the limited-edition kicks will also receive a t-shirt and a shoebox that is made to replicate a milk crate full of records. “To keep your Adidas shoes clean and white, the best place to put them is your shoebox. I love to have a collector’s box that looks great in the closet or on display without necessarily looking like a shoebox,” Padilla said to Footwear News. “I want the box to be as much of a coveted collector’s item as the shoe.”
