Aéropostale unveils back-to-school capsule with Demetra Dias

Casual apparel and accessories retailer Aéropostale, part of the Authentic Brands Group (Authentic) portfolio, has launched a new back-to-school capsule collection designed by Gen Z creator Demetra Dias.

The 57-piece Demetra for Aéropostale collection blends “girly, cosy, and effortlessly cool vibes,” and was co-designed by the 18-year-old TikToker while she was interning for the brand at Aéropostale’s headquarters in New York City.

“Interning at Aéro was seriously such a full-circle moment. I grew up shopping here, so to actually go on and have the opportunity to learn how everything works behind the scenes, and then get to design my own collection? I still can’t believe it,” said Dias in a statement. “Every piece feels like something I’d wear every day.”

The apparel collection has been designed for “hangouts with friends and cosy dorm nights,” featuring loungewear, denim, and casual separates in playful prints and classic stripes. The clothing range will sell alongside a new signature scent for the retailer, Daydreamer by Demetra.

Natalie Levy, brand chief executive of Aéropostale, added: “Demetra brought fresh ideas, real insight, and total authenticity to the table. She is the customer, and it shows in every detail of this collection.”

The Demetra for Aéropostale launches exclusively on the Aéropostale app on July 17, followed by Aeropostale.com on July 19, and in stores in the US and Puerto Rico starting July 23. The brand will also host a meet-and-greet with Dias at the Roosevelt Field Mall in New York on July 22 to celebrate the collaboration.
