At New York Fashion Week: Men's, Cadet reminded us why they were finalists for the Vogue/CFDA Fashion Fund. This season, the designers delivered a collection that was beyond even their already high expectations with offerings such as trench oats in grey sport coat merino, tunic t-shirts in blue jacket line, and double-breasted jackets with pleats.

What made this collection so unique, however, was how innovative the designers were. Rather than going for usual men's offerings of suiting or athleisure, they created pieces that were so uniquely you couldn't get them anywhere else. After all, the point of going to Fashion Week is to see fashion, not anything you could see when you walk into your neighborhood retailer.

For example, this season the brand created tunic t-shirts in white linen with metal clasps. Another tunic t-shirt they sent down the runway had shoulder zippers.

While it was a spring/summer collection, their outerwear pieces really stood out as well. A trench coat in grey sport coat merino and an oversized aviator jacket proved that they the designers were skilled when it came to far more than their just their expected summer offerings.

The theme of this season's collection was the Roman Legion, hence the numerous tunic shirts in this collection.

In addition to the tunics and outerwear, the brand also did an excellent job with offerings like elastic waistband pants and cuffed shorts with snaps. If anyone thought high fashion couldn't be comfortable, Cadet was here to prove them wrong.
