It's a small world after all. Chanel at least seems to think so. The iconic luxury label has unveiled a new offering for their cult favorite Chanel J12 ceramic watch that is smaller than past iterations.

The new Chanel J12 XS has a diameter of just 19 millimeters. The name of watch is a play on the words "extra small" and "excess."

The watch will be available in four boutique versions. It comes in either black or white, on a patent leather calfskin strap that can be worn on its own or over a matching matte calfskin cuff with silver piping, with a price of 4975 dollars.

Another option is to wear the watch over a pair of black lambskin fingerless gloves from Causse. This option is an ode to Chanel's artistic director Karl Lagerfeld, who is almost never seen without his gloves. This option is available only in a limited edition of 150 pieces and is priced at 7550 dollars per pair.

A large cuff version has six slim black patent leather straps mounted with the watch dial and mobile steel loops set with diamonds. There are also a dozen one-of-a-kind options that are priced between 10,000 dollars and to 105,000 dollars. Pieces include a novelty ring version priced at 35,000 dollars.

Chanel also tapped Lessage, the company who already embroiders some of their watch dials, to hand-decorate cuffs with sequins and glass beads to give the impression they are made from exotic skins like alligator and python. These higher-end options retail for 38,000 dollars.

The pieces were first unveiled in New York on July 19. Chanel will also be having presentations in South Korea, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Hong Kong this month, followed by an official press launch sometime between September 8 and 13 in Paris.
