She began as Personal Assistant to Tom Ford at Gucci, which lead to her becoming Senior Vice President of Communication for Tom Ford. Today, she successfully operates flower mail-order business Flowerbx and explains how her time in the world of fashion and at Tom Ford acted as a springboard for setting up her own company and how it helped her to being her own brand to market. The secret to Flowerbx’s success is offering flowers at a lower price than traditional florists in England. This is achieved by cutting out the middlemen. This means that unnecessary and high fixed costs can be avoided. The savings are passed on to customers.
