In 2003, the CFDA and Vogue joined forces and launched the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund to help emerging designers establish themselves on American fashion. Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez were the first to win in 2004, and the fund since launched the careers of many more, Alexander Wang and Joseph Altuzarra to Telfar Clemens, who took home the top prize last year.

Celebrating 15 years of the Fashion Fund, we are thrilled to reveal this year’s 10 finalists. They are Batsheva Hay of Batsheva, Emily Adams Bode of Bode, Christian Cowan, Danielle Corona of Hunting Season, Jonathan Cohen and Sarah Leff of Jonathan Cohen, Raul Lopez of Luar, Matthew Adams Dolan, Kerby Jean-Raymond of Pyer Moss, Rebecca de Ravenel, and Scosha Woolridge of Scosha.

“This year’s ten finalists will more than ably follow in the footsteps of those who have gone before them,” said Anna Wintour, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue and Artistic Director of Condé Nast. “They’re not only talented, they’re engaged with a rapidly changing world, reflecting a whole new set of values and beliefs about what fashion can and should be.”

“For the past 15 years, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund has transformed American fashion by creating a path for emerging designers to find success in the business of fashion,” CFDA’s Kolb said. “The program has had global impact and inspired other fashion capitals to put a focus on emerging talent.”

In addition to Wintour and Kolb, the Selection Committee is made up of CFDA Chairwoman Diane von Furstenberg, Joseph Altuzarra, Eva Chen of Instagram, Mark Holgate of Vogue, Nicole Phelps of Vogue Runway, Jeffrey Kalinsky of Jeffrey and Nordstrom, Roopal Patel of Saks Fifth Avenue, and Theory’s Andrew Rosen.

The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Selection Committee will visit each talent’s design studio next, review their work and interview them.

The winner will receive $400,000 and the two-runners up take home $150,000 each in addition to invaluable mentorship by established designers and industry executives.

The gala dinner featuring a runway show of looks from the finalists as well as the announcement of the winner and runners-up will take place in New York City on November 5.
