Uruguayan luxury designer Gabriela Hearst has been named as the newest ambassador for Save the Children, continuing her ongoing support of the independent organization.
A former trustee, Hearst will now help raise awareness concerning children’s rights in over 100 countries, helping ensure children have a strong and healthy start in life.
“We are excited to welcome Gabriela Hearst as our newest Save the Children ambassador,” said Janti Soeripto, President and Chief Executive Officer of Save the Children US, in a statement, “Gabriela is a passionate and outspoken advocate for children—both as a generous supporter of our work and through her years as a Save the Children trustee.”
“Her steadfast dedication to making the world a better place is deeply embedded in everything she does, personally and professionally, and we’re so grateful for her continued partnership in helping change the lives of children and families around the world.”
For the seventh year running, Hearst has also partnered with Save the Children to support its Children’s Emergency Fund (CEF), one of the biggest humanitarian funds in the world that allows the organization to respond to global crises, offering life-saving aid when needed. From December 1 to December 25, 100 percent of the net proceeds from her eponymous luxury label’s flagship stores in New York, Los Angeles, and London, as well as online, will be donated to the fund.
“Save the Children is my service family for Life. Investing in Children is investing in our future. It is such an honor to be working since 2017 with this organization founded by the trailblazing and courageous Eglantyne Jebb in 1919,” said Gabriela Hearst in a statement.
“Save The Children was founded by a visionary and her spirit has been carried on by the geniuses of logistic bringing help in the most challenging places and the fierce leaders that shine a bright light in challenging times. I have such deep admiration for the commitment that it takes to be a humanitarian as a vocation. Such calling in today’s world takes bravery and love. I am filled with pride to be an ambassador to such great people.”
Heart’s connection to the organization first began in 2017 with a visit to programs in rural Kenya. At the time, she pledged 600,000 US dollars to cover the needs of 1,000 families after witnessing the devastation caused by drought, launching her debut fundraising campaign and raising the money within two days. Since then, she has consistently supported Save the Children and contributed to the CEF for seven years.
In addition, Hearst served on the board of trustees from 2018 to 2025 and is a co-founder of 100 Strong, Save the Children’s women's philanthropic leadership network.
