Garrett Leight California Optical continues partnership with Clare V. in new collection

In continuation of their ongoing partnership, Garrett Leight California Optical and Clare V. have launched a brand new style. The Los Angeles-based brands teamed up once again to reimagine the classic cat-eye silhouette and bring together their respective aesthetics of “California cool and the French New Wave.”

The new style, aptly named Nouvelle, was inspired by summers in the south of France, where Clare V.’s creative director and founder Clare Vivier spends her vacations during this season each year. The Nouvelle, which retails for 340 USD, features a retro-styled frame and was designed to be a modernized version of the original cat-eye silhouette the brands created together in their first collaboration.

“I’m proud to continue our collaboration with Clare. As an independent brand owner herself, both of our namesake companies represent who we are as people,” said Garrett Leight, the founder of his eponymous brand. “The 5-year partnership has received great reception and we knew we wanted the new style to compliment the first shape we created together. Taking inspiration from French style and icons such as singer Francoise Hardy, the square cat-eye shape felt like the right fit.”

The GLCO x Clare V. Nouvelle frame is available for purchase at both Garrett Leight California Optical and Clare Vivier retail locations as well as at each brand’s online store.
