M.i.h. Jeans has announced they have collaborated with stylist Bay Garnett. The new limited-edition five-piece capsule collection is inspired by Garnett's vintage wardrobe and includes the return of the original Cheap Date tee, which was given away with the issues of the zine in the 90s. "I found the original T in my drawer and bought it into MIH as a fit reference and then we decided we’d love to reproduce it as is. It feels right in lots of ways. But ultimately because it’s a celebration of thrifting!" Said Barnett to FashionUnited.

Vintage and 90s nostalgia are very on trend right now, so this collaboration had perfect timing. "People are becoming more conscious and aware of the importance and value of sustainability." said Barnett to FashionUnited. "I think we’ve reached a peak of ‘fast Fashion’ and people are now turning away from that. I think people also love the one off finds you get from Vintage; it’s a way to let your individuality shine!"

For the collection, M.i.h. also brought back the Bay Jean in a new wash inspired by faded jeans found at the Rosebowl Flea Market in Pasadena, California. The capsule also features two tiger print pieces as an homage to Garnett's obsession with animal print.

Alongside the capsule collection, M.i.h. also introduced curated vintaged pieces as part of their commitment to a more sustainable business model.

"[Sustainability] can really inform a collaboration," Garnett said to FashionUnited. "To make it a strong talking point. It’s so important. It’s at the heart of the way I’ve found so many of the clothes that I love."

The vintage is focused on designer denim from the 70s and 80s such as Gloria Vanderbilt, Pierre Cardin and Jordache with great original, high-rise fits and signature lurex and gold labelling. M.i.h’s mission was to find the unique and one-of-a-kind pieces from the 70s that represent the best of women’s vintage denim.

Hunting out hero animal print pieces was also key, and M.i.h achieved a strong curation of coats, trousers and skirts for a signature M.i.h Jeans X Bay Garnett wardrobe. The vintage is now being sold within a pop-up installation at Selfridges Oxford Street for six weeks, as well as online at Selfridges.com and Mih-jeans.com.
