Iconic American department store Macy's has long been known for show stopping spectacles like the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and their 4th of July Parade. Now, they will be adding NYFW to their roster. The event titled "Macy's Presents Fashion's Front Row" event, which has been described as Macy's biggest fashion show ever with 60 models and 150 looks, will take place at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden on September 17.

The event will air on E! on September 23 at 8 p.m. The broadcast will highlight all the most glamorous parts of the event from the celebrity appearances, interviews, and backstage arrivals. The best part is that this event will be combining fashion and charity.

100 percent of the proceeds for this event will go towards Broadway Cares/ Equity Fight Against AIDS and the Council of Fashion Designers of America Foundation. In terms of things they are doing for profit, all the looks in the runway show can be shopped on macys.com/runway. Plenty of Macy's exclusives will be featured in the runway show including Heidi by Heidi Klum Intimates, INC, Ryan Seacrest Distinction, Thalía Sodi and Tommy Hilfiger. The show will also include its share of musical acts, with Nate Ruess, front man of the band Fun, scheduled to perform songs from his debut solo album "Grand Romantic."

Macy's to stage runway show during NYFW

Other musical acts are currently being lined up as they get closer to the show date. The runway show will be the kickoff of a larger group of events that will be going on around the nation at Macy's from September 24 to the 26 at flagship stores in Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco. These events will include celebrity and fashion designer appearances and shopping parties.

Tickets will be priced at 55 and 80 dollars and go on sale August 21. For American-Express cardholders, there will be a pre-sale beginning August 14. This is expected to be one of the most major events during NYFW that will bring in a ton of press to Macy's.

Martine Reardon, Macy’s Chief Marketing Officer, said to WWD that the show “Will ignite the catwalk in a celebration of fashion and music, featuring the hottest styles for fall, as well as fantastic music and dance performances.”
