Actress and comedian Melissa McCarthy is set to launch her own fashion line after signing a multi-year deal with Sunrise Brands, which operates licenses for labels including Superdry, People's Liberation and Seven7.

The fashion line, which has yet to be named, will launch for autumn/winter 2015 and will offer casual sportswear that will include, but not limited to, plus-size clothing. The collection will be sold in department and specialty stores in the US, Canada and the UK, although no retailers have been confirmed.

The Emmy award-winning actress has revealed that she has dreamt of being a fashion designer since she was a child, the comedian even went to the Fashion Institute of Technology to train to be a designer before leaving for Hollywood to be a performer.

"It's something I've done since grade school," the actress told WWD. "I'd lay on the floor, look through Vogue and cut out patterns. It was everything I ever wanted to do."

McCarthy added: "I'd been looking for two, three, maybe four years for manufacturers to help us do this line, but after we met with Sunrise, we felt they were committed to changing the plus-size game."

According to Sunrise, McCarthy will design each collection with assistance from her creative director, Judy Swartz, fit specialist, Daniela Kurrle, and product coordinator, Alexandria Longo.

The collection is expected to include sweaters, knit tops as well as trousers, with the prices being affordable with knit tops retailing for 39 to 79 dollars, sweaters for 79 to 99 dollars, and trousers for 59 to 118 dollars.
