Chilean contemporary artist Sebastian Errazuriz and Brazilian plastic shoe brand Melissa's Shoes are collaborating on a new capsule collection. The two styles they've come up draw inspiration from the "Twelve Shoes for Twelve Lovers" that Errzauriz installed at a Melissa's pop-up boutique during the 2013 edition of Art Basel Miami Beach. The installation received 35 million digital impressions, so, this collection already seems like it will be a sure fire hit.

Errazuriz's "Twelve Shoes for Twelve Lovers" reinterpreted the hallmarks and personas of twelve of his ex-girlfriends into shoe form for sculptural display. The installation has been exhibited at the Carnegie Museum of Art and the Museum of art and Design. Two of the installation's twelve designs — "The Golddigger", a gold pair with a human form in the appearance of a statue for a heel, and "The Boss", a silver design with a brass knuckled shaped talon — have gone into mass production.

The price point for both pair of heels is 450 dollars and will be available in August. Melissa Shoe's is no stranger to partnerships either, having collaborated with designers Jason Wu, Karl Lagerfeld, Zaha Hadid, and Gareth Pugh in the past, so, she's sure to see another hit with this collaboration. Her new collection with Errazuriz stands as a perfect example of how the worlds of fashion and art are forever intertwined.
